The Main Directorate of Intelligence, together with the investigators of the National Police, identified three officers of the 108th Assault Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces who brutally tortured and killed a resident of the Mykolaiv region.
This is stated in the notification of the State Government and the National Police.
According to their data, in March 2022, the invaders shot a 53-year-old man on the territory of one of the settlements of the Sniguriv district. Before the murder, the man was brutally tortured.
The fact of the murder and torture of a civilian was discovered by the investigators of the National Police of Ukraine, who came across the corresponding audio recording of the interception of the conversation of Russian servicemen. Having established the place of burial, the police conducted an exhumation of the corpse and performed a forensic examination and a comparative genetic molecular examination.
The man killed by the Russians, while under occupation, carefully noted the number, direction and dates of movement of Russian equipment and passed this information on to the Armed Forces.
«The occupiers first beat and tortured him: they tied his hands with plastic cuffs and sawed his teeth with a file, and then they cut off his fingers and shot him. This information was reported by eyewitnesses of the crime during inspections of the scene, interrogation of witnesses, conducting investigative experiments and hundreds of other investigative actions. The police established and proved the involvement of three Russian servicemen in the torture and murder of a civilian, namely the commanders and a soldier of the 108th Airborne Assault Regiment from the Krasnodar Territory, »the investigators report.
Last year, the Security Service of Ukraine identified three Russian soldiers who set up a torture chamber and abused civilians there during the occupation of Mykolaiv Oblast.
