According to Vitalii Kim, Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, strikes on Russian military facilities and logistics in Crimea may, in the long term, affect the intensity of attacks on Ukraine; however, rapid results should not be expected.

He made these remarks during an appearance on «Novyny.Live».

According to him, such processes take time. As an example, he cited the situation in 2022, when the Ukrainian Defence Forces carried out strikes on the logistics routes of Russian troops on the right bank of the Dnipro for several months. Only then were the occupiers forced to retreat.

«This is a problem for them, and we need to continue developing this tactic. History shows that such tactics work. But it is still too early to talk about the effect. Because the Russians are the sort who will let people go hungry, yet they will find petrol for their Shahed drones,» noted Vitalii Kim.

The head of the Regional Military Administration also believes that there will be no significant reduction in the number of Russian shelling attacks in the near future. According to him, logistical problems will inevitably affect the occupiers’ capabilities, but tangible results will only be visible after some time.

«Therefore, I do not foresee a reduction in the number of (shelling incidents targeting Ukraine, — note) in the near future. We will see the results a little later. It should take two or three months for the number to decrease significantly,» said Vitalii Kim.

As a reminder, on the night of 12 June, the temporarily occupied Crimea and several regions of Russia came under attack from drones. Following the explosions, fires were reported at energy and industrial facilities.

In Simferopol, a fire broke out near the local thermal power station. Power cuts were also recorded in the city.
