A separate constructive meeting was held with the Ukrainian side in the US-Ukraine format, he wrote on social media platform X.
The talks focused on four key areas: further development of the 20-point peace plan, coordination of approaches to the multilateral security guarantee system, US security guarantees for Ukraine, and a plan for economic development and recovery of the country.
Steve Witkoff stressed that the parties paid special attention to the timing and sequence of the next steps. According to him, Ukraine remains fully committed to achieving a just and lasting peace. Among the common priorities, he named an end to the killings, the provision of reliable security guarantees and the creation of conditions for stability, recovery and long-term development of Ukraine.
In addition, the special envoy reported on the meetings of the American delegation with the special representative of the Russian leadership, Kirill Dmitriev. According to Steve Witkoff, the talks were productive and aimed at advancing President Donald Trump's peace plan.
He also noted that the Russian side declares its readiness to achieve peace in Ukraine and positively assesses the mediation role of the United States in resolving the war.
Earlier, the head of the «Servant of the People» faction, David Arakhamia, said that there is currently no possibility of concluding a «good» peace agreement with Russia — it is either a bad or very bad option, or no agreement and the continuation of the war.
