David Arakhamia says that the State Voter Register has resumed its work in Ukraine . Collage: NikVestiOn Tuesday, 23 December, for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Central Election Commission resumed the work of the «State Register of Voters» in Ukraine.
This was announced by the head of the «Servant of the People» faction, David Arakhamiia.
«This actually opens the way for the CEC to resume interaction with citizens and authorities in terms of working with the register and, as a result, to update it», the MP explained.
According to him, updating the voter register is one of the basic conditions for holding any election.
«The war has significantly affected demographic indicators, and this should be reflected in the register. There is still a lot of work to be done in this direction», said David Arakhamiia.
As a reminder, a working group is being formed in the Verkhovna Rada to accelerate preparations for possible presidential elections in Ukraine during martial law.
Earlier, the CEC reported that holding presidential, parliamentary and local elections in Ukraine could cost about 20 billion hryvnias.
