Kim says he has no presidential ambitions and is interested in judicial reform and rebuilding the south

The head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Vitalii Kim, has said that he is not considering running for president, and named completion of judicial reform and rebuilding the south as his political priorities.

He said this on the air of the programme «Dialogue» on the TV channel «MART».

According to Vitalii Kim, the issue of elections should be resolved only if the voting rights of citizens, especially the military, internally displaced persons and Ukrainians abroad, are fully ensured.

«It is a difficult question, without this, I think, we should not do it. We have to ensure all voters' rights,» said Kim.

He stressed that he has no personal political ambitions for the sake of positions or status, but is ready to participate in processes that will be beneficial.

«If there is a serious, useful and authoritative task. I don't know if I will or not. I don't know how it will develop, but everyone will talk about it. If the discussion includes the tasks of completing the judicial reform and restoring the south, which are in line with my policy, then yes. I'm not interested in armchairs, I'm not interested in sitting somewhere,» said the head of the region.

Vitalii Kim noted that as a representative of the executive branch, he would definitely be involved in the organisation of the electoral process in the region, if such a decision is made at the state level.

«Considering that I am a representative of the executive branch, I will be involved in ensuring the elections as a process. At least in the region. Organisationally, I will do it. I'm more likely to be involved in some way, but there are no specifics right now. I'm not thinking about the presidential election,» concluded the head of the RMA.

As a reminder, on 22 December, the Verkhovna Rada formed a working group to accelerate preparations for possible presidential elections in Ukraine during martial law.

The next day, on 23 December, for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Central Election Commission resumed the work of the State Voter Register «and the State Register of Voters».

At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow was ready to consider a possible ceasefire on the day of the elections in Ukraine.
