Mykolaiv residents complained about the condition of the Shyrokobalskkyi bridge: they ask to remove bottles from «Molotov cocktails», which have been around for over a year and a half

Residents of the Shyroka Balka micro-district are asking to restore the Shyrokobalskyi bridge, which connects the Tsentralnyi and Korabelnyi districts of the city: to clean up the garbage and make paths.

They published a corresponding appeal in the contact center of the Mykolaiv City Council.

So, Mykolaiv residents are asking the local authorities to remove bottles of «Molotov cocktails» that have been lying on the bridge since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

In addition, residents complain about fallen curbs and the lack of pedestrian paths. According to residents of the microdistrict, the rise leading to the bridge from the side of Shyroka Balka is simply covered with clay.

«Make everything right here already. Crews have worked here many times and it has not been finished. The curb on the bridge is lying down, people are walking there, there is no path, the bottles are still there. They were a year and a half old, then there was a Molotov cocktail... The path for climbing the bridge from the side of the wide beam was generally covered with clay,» the report says.

It will be recalled that earlier the residents of Shyroka Balka also complained about the lack of paths leading to the bridge and asked the city authorities to build a sidewalk from the Shyrokobalskyi bridge to the tram stop.

We will remind that in February 2020, the deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council approved the transfer of the Inhulskyi and Shyrokobalskyi bridges to the balance sheet of Ukravtodor. The vice-mayor of Mykolaiv, Serhii Korenev, said that the Shyrokobalskyi bridge cannot be accepted as state property, because it is not located on a route of international importance. At that time, people's deputy Oleksandr Haidu was ready to provide assistance in finding funds for repairs.

The mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, said that there is no money in the city budget for the repair of the Shyrokobalskyi crossing in Korabelnyi district. The capital repair project of the bridge provides for the cost of works in the amount of 115 million hryvnias. However, the cost of its reconstruction after passing the examination increased to 165 million hryvnias.
