Two foster families were created in Mykolaiv communities this year

Seven communities of Mykolaiv Oblast joined the UNICEF project «Development and strengthening of patronage over children in Ukraine». Two foster families were created this year.

This was discussed on the air of Ukrainian Radio. Mykolaiv.

Iryna Ponomariova, head of the Children's Service of the Mykolaiv Oblast, said that as of October, there are nine foster families in the region, two of them — created this year. Under the care of families — 24 children. According to her, one of the positive results is the return of 12 children to their biological families.

She reported that the project started in February this year and will continue until May 2025 and is financed by UNICEF. All foster carers have received appropriate training.

Earlier it was reported that a foster family was created in the Buzke community in the Mykolaiv region.

NikVesti informed that an internally displaced family-type children's home, which moved from the Oleshky district of the Kherson region, operates in the Mykolaiv region.

We will remind that the Odesa city government is waiting for a subvention of 58 million hryvnias to purchase housing for foster families from the frontline areas.
