Mykolaiv needs ₴6.1 billion to filter water from Inhulets and modernize water supply systems

Mykolaiv needs 6.1 billion hryvnias for the construction of a system of pressure filtration and preparation of drinking water from the Inhulets River, as well as modernization of existing infrastructure facilities.

This is evidenced by the data of the DREAM state system website, written NikVesti.

The project was initiated by the Mykolaiv City Council with a total estimated budget of 6 billion 103 million 650 thousand hryvnias. It is indicated that the main stage of the project is the construction of a pressure filtration system. It is planned to be implemented by the end of 2026.

The expected implementation results indicate:

• Providing the city of Mykolaiv with a reliable and stable water supply.
• Improving the quality of drinking water due to modern filtration.
• Reducing dependence on one water source by building a new water intake.
• Increasing the resilience of water supply to changes in climatic conditions and technical factors.
• Optimization of water resources management through reservoir reconstruction.

Part of the project concerns the construction of a pressure filtration system for water purification from the Inhulets River. For this, it is planned to use ultrafiltration to remove pollution, bacteria and harmful impurities from the water.

At the water treatment station, powerful filtration equipment will be installed, which will purify water in pressure mode. It states that this will «increase system performance and reduce energy costs.» Also, an automated monitoring system will be introduced to control water quality at all stages.

The project is one of the stages of providing the city with drinking water and is connected with the construction of a 200 mm water supply network in Mykolaiv.
