On October 20, the daily maximum electricity consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 10.7% higher than the previous Sunday, October 13.

This was reported in the press service of Ukrenergo.

«The reason for such a significant increase in consumption is the decrease in air temperature throughout Ukraine and the massive use of heaters, in particular, in the evening hours,» the report says.

It is also noted that as of 9:30 a.m. on October 21, electricity consumption was 6.3% higher than the previous working day — Friday, October 18.

The company reminded that during the hours of maximum consumption in the power system there is a power deficit. Therefore, it is better to use powerful electrical appliances during the period of the most efficient operation of solar power plants — from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Earlier, the former head of NEC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi said that in Ukraine in winter the lights will be turned off even if all the damaged generation facilities are repaired. He noted that the lights will not be turned off only under very optimistic scenarios, namely air temperature from +5 to +15 degrees and no shelling of energy facilities.

We would like to remind you that today, October 21, in Mykolaiv due to ongoing repairs of the network, scheduled power outages are planned. It is noted that there will be no electricity until 17:00.
