In the Mykolaiv maternity hospital №3, a solar power plant was put into operation to increase the autonomy of the obstetric department.

This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

It is noted that the hospital has an obstetrics and children's department with intensive care units and a maternity pathology department, the hospital is capable of receiving up to 4,500 births per year. Therefore, the installed solar plant with a capacity of 60 kV will help the facility to work during power outages.

«According to the Law of Ukraine on restoration and green transformation of the energy system, medical institutions will be able to implement the mechanism of active electricity consumers. Hospitals usually generate electricity for their own needs. Now, during hours when more electricity is produced than consumed, the surplus can be sold to the grid. According to preliminary estimates, this will enable hospitals to save about 5-10% of funds,» the report says.

Earlier in Mykolaiv, the winners of the competition for the best project of reconstruction of the maternity hospital No. 3 into a perinatal center were determined.

We will remind that solar panels for autonomous operation in conditions of possible power outages were to be installed in the Mykolaiv Regional Children's Hospitals Bashtanka, Berezanka, Voznesensk, Mykolaiv Children's Hospital №2, as well as Central Children's Hospital №4 and №6.

We will also remind you that the Mykolaiv Rehabilitation and Development Office received 100,000 euros for the installation of solar power plants in city hospital №1.
