Almost 123,000 displaced people live in Mykolaiv region

As of November 24, almost 123,000 displaced people were registered in the Mykolaiv region. One of the main problems for them remains the provision of housing, this was discussed on the air of «Ukrainske Radio. Mykolaiv».
According to Oksana Yelchiieva, director of the Department of Social Protection of the Population of Mykolayiv Oblast, there are five places of compact living in the region.
«Today there are five places of compact living in the region, where 271 people live. Along with this, we cooperate with charitable organizations that help to make repairs in order to create new places for temporary settlement,” she said.
In addition, a housing social fund was formed in the communities of the region. 217 displaced persons currently live in 100 communally owned facilities, including social apartments and rooms in dormitories.
According to her, special attention is paid to the elderly and people with disabilities who need constant care. Currently, 334 people, of which 154 are from Kherson region, live in social security institutions.
Oksana Yelchiieva said that as part of the «Prykhystok» program, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, almost 9 thousand displaced persons lived in communally owned institutions. During this time, private households of the region provided shelter to almost 347 thousand displaced persons.
We will remind that at the end of October, the construction of modular houses for IDPs began in Southern Ukraine. Later it became known that at least 2 million 150 thousand hryvnias are needed to implement this project.
