Since the beginning of this week, 17 Russian attack drones have flown just three kilometers from the South Ukraine nuclear power plant.
This is stated in the statement of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi, regarding the situation in Ukraine.
«At the South Ukraine NPP, the IAEA team was informed that at the beginning of the week a total of 17 drones were detected flying at a distance of about three kilometers from the plant,» the statement states.
At the same time, it was stated there that the Khmelnytskyi, Rivne and South Ukrainian nuclear power plants gradually increased their electricity production after the shelling of Russian troops last week. These nuclear power plants have nine reactors, eight of which are currently operating and one is in a shutdown state.
Before that, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported on the flights of Russian drones near the South Ukrainian nuclear power plant.
After that, on October 2, the South Ukraine NPP concluded an agreement for the construction of engineering protection of critical elements of the plant for 595 million hryvnias.
