Three Ukrainian nuclear power plants increased electricity production after the shelling

The Khmelnytsky, Rivne, and South Ukraine nuclear power plants have gradually increased their electricity production following shelling by Russian forces last week.

This was reported in the press service of the IAEA.

It is noted that the Khmelnytsky, Rivne, and South Ukraine NPPs have nine reactors, eight of which are currently operating, and one is in a shutdown state.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi notes that there are problems with power supply: some external power lines remain disconnected due to strikes on critical infrastructure.

«Operators have shown significant resilience during and after the most recent period of system instability, enabling these plants to maintain nuclear safety and generate power after last week's production cuts,» he noted.

Shelling of the energy industry on November 28

Mykolaiv Oblast also suffered from shelling. In connection with the introduction of emergency power cuts, trolleybuses and trams did not run in Mykolaiv. Mykolaivpastrans released an additional number of buses №91.

On December 3, it became known that the Mykolaiv region restored energy facilities damaged during the Russian shelling on November 28.
