Nets to protect against Russian FPV drones are being installed on certain sections of roads in the communities of Mykolaiv region.

The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, told NikVesti.

As you know, Russian troops have been targeting civilians in three communities in Mykolaiv Oblast with FPV drones: Ochakiv, Kutsurub and Halytsynove. The enemy launches drones from the territory of the temporarily occupied Kinburn Spit.

Vitalii Kim said that, following the example of other frontline cities, Mykolaiv region is also installing drone nets, but for security reasons he did not specify where exactly.

«The nets are already being installed on the roads. That is, they are already in place in certain areas. But we will not say which ones. We have such plans and are implementing them,» said Vitalii Kim.

As a reminder, the first anti-drone tunnel to protect civilian and military transport from attacks by enemy FPV drones was built in Zaporizhzhia region.

The anti-drone tunnel allows for safer movement of personnel and equipment and evacuation of the wounded. And for civilians, it reduces the risks of travelling within the frontline areas.

According to the website Texty.org.ua, Russian troops were the first to use such protective structures. It is believed that a fishing net stretched over the road is more effective than a chain-link fence, as it almost guarantees the detonation of FPV drones.
