Mykolaiv region spends ₴108 million on housing for war veterans

This year, 42 families of war veterans have received assistance from the state to provide housing. 108 million hryvnias was allocated for this purpose.

This was reported by Oksana Yelchiieva, Director of the Social Protection Department of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, during a briefing.

According to her, over the past three years, 210 people from veterans' families have received housing assistance totalling 482.2 million hryvnias.

In addition to housing programmes, the region is implementing measures to rehabilitate, retrain and train veterans.

«The Mykolaiv region uses the opportunity to train veterans and their families in driving schools. 64 agreements have been concluded to date for 685,900 hryvnias. There is a driving school in the region that can teach people with musculoskeletal disorders to drive. This applies to people with disabilities and war veterans who have been injured and became disabled», said Oksana Yelchiieva.

In July, certificates for the purchase of housing for war veterans and families of fallen defenders of Ukraine were handed out in Mykolaiv. In total, in 2025, the Ministry of Veterans' Affairs of Ukraine allocated 3.9 billion hryvnias to provide housing for 1,587 veterans and their families. The Mykolaiv region received 108.4 million hryvnias of this amount, which is enough to provide housing for 42 families of veterans and fallen soldiers.

It was also reported that the Mykolaiv Regional Council approved the Comprehensive Programme of Social Support for War Veterans and Their Families for 2025-2027. It is aimed at creating conditions for the integration of veterans into civilian life and providing them with comprehensive assistance.
