Yurii Klymenko, a Mykolaiv businessman and director of the company ‘Tribotechnika’, believes that the city authorities should consider the possibility of leasing or granting a concession for Victory Park so that businesses can develop a modern leisure space there.

He posted his video message on Facebook.

According to Yurii Klymenko, he is currently in Riga, where he saw an example of a well-maintained public park with open access for the public, leisure areas, cafés and a bike hire service.

«I’m in a public park in Riga. Everything here is open to the public: free access, people are out and about, there are several cafés, hammocks and a bike hire service. Why not do the same in Mykolaiv? Don’t be stingy — lease it out to someone or grant a concession. No alcohol sales — just bikes, coffee, snacks, sandwiches. And people will enjoy walking, breathing fresh air and relaxing. Why not?» the businessman noted.

In his post, he also addressed the mayor, Oleksandr Sienkevych, and the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, adding relevant mentions and hashtags related to Peremohy Park.

It should be noted that in Mykolaiv, at the stadium in Peremohy Park, no large-scale improvement works have been carried out over the last three years — the grounds were maintained solely by staff from the «Central City Stadium» organisation.

Previously, the City Council’s Department of Housing and Communal Services had been seeking an investor to carry out the redevelopment of Mykolaiv’s Peremohy Park. Among other things, the park redevelopment project envisages: preserving the park’s existing layout, improving the beach area, creating a network of cycle paths, and installing leisure and sports facilities.
