State sanitary inspectors discovered bacteria-contaminated water in kiosks in Mykolaiv — the owners of the filling points were offered to immediately correct the situation.

This was reported in the office of the State Production and Consumer Service in the Mykolaiv region.

In June, sanitary inspectors checked 65 drinking water filling points in Zavodskyi district. During the inspections, attention was paid to the condition of the equipment and the implementation of the suggestions of previous inspections.

24 water samples were taken for laboratory research. The results showed that the water does not meet sanitary standards at the following filling points:

  • St. Molodohvardiiska, 53;
  • St. Krylova, 13;
  • St. Izmalkova, 36.

The companies that are under the supervision of these filling points were quickly provided with appropriate proposals to eliminate the identified deficiencies.

NikVesti checked the filling points, which, according to the conclusions of the sanitary inspection, do not meet the standards. All of them are serviced by private companies.

It should be noted that there are two water filling points on Krylova Street, 13, so it is not known in which of them the sanitary inspection detected bacterial contamination of the purified water.

In April 2024, the sanitary inspection also inspected 11 companies that supply drinking water and inspected 62 water kiosks in the Central district of Mykolaiv. The water was checked for sanitary conditions and the presence of necessary information about its composition and manufacturer.

It turned out that the water from some kiosks does not meet hygienic requirements:

  • St. Kolodiazna, 3 — exceeding the level of sulfates by 1.6 times and dry residue by 1.15 times;
  • St. 3-rd Slobidska, 51 — bacterial contamination;
  • St. Kolodiazna, 35-A — bacterial contamination.

Recommendations were also given to the stall owners to eliminate the violations.

We will remind that in June 2023, deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council approved the «Affordable Water» program on the second attempt. In particular, 37.6 million hryvnias were planned to be allocated from the city budget in 2023 for the maintenance, maintenance and repairs of water purification systems in Mykolaiv, thanks to which citizens collect drinking water. These funds were to be spent on the maintenance of reverse osmosis stations, of which there are currently 145 in Mykolaiv. As you know, water under the «Affordable Water» program is not potable.

Mykolaiv Zoo was also added to the program. It will receive funds from the city budget for maintenance, maintenance and repair of water treatment systems.

Dmytro Falko, the secretary of Mykolaiv city council, said that in Mykolaiv after the war, the city council plans to create a utility company that will take care of the purified water points, service them and sell water to the population. At the same time, the cost of a liter of water, according to preliminary calculations, can be 20 kopecks.

At the same time, it was reported that since the beginning of 2023, «Mykolaivoblteploenergo» has provided citizens with drinking water for the total amount of 22 million hryvnias, however, as of October, it has not yet received compensation under the «Affordable Water» program, the company's director, Mykola Lohvinov, said.

At that time, the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the City Council reported that they expect that Oblast Teploenergo will be able to receive this compensation already in November. However, this did not happen in November.

In addition, in 2024, it is planned to spend 64.1 million hryvnias from the Mykolaiv budget for the implementation of the «Affordable Water» program. During the next year, these funds are going to be spent on the operation of water purification systems and the repair of the well, including the purchase of materials, spare parts and equipment.

Also, deputy of Mykolaiv City Council Olena Kiseliova proposed to develop a program for monitoring the quality of drinking water, in particular in artesian wells.
