Budanov: Ukraine is facing a difficult period at the front, but there will be no Armageddon

Head of GUR Kyrylo Budanov / UP Head of MDI Kyrylo Budanov / UP

In the near future, the situation at the front in Ukraine may deteriorate, but there will be no Armageddon.

The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence Kyrylo Budanov told about this in an interview with the BBC.

«In our opinion, a rather difficult situation awaits us in the near future. But it is not catastrophic, this must also be understood. Armageddon will not happen, as many are now beginning to say,» he said.

Kyrylo Budanov clarified that we are talking about both the events at the front and the domestic political situation.

«This is a complex approach, because the Russians will use a complex approach. They conduct a complex operation. We will not talk about it with you for a long time, but it will be a difficult period. Mid-May, early June,» he said.

The head of the MDI also said that he does not regret his previous predictions, which did not come true or did not come true to the full extent.

«They (forecasts, — note) do not give vain hope. These are real-time forecasts. If something comes back a little differently — sorry, it makes its own corrections,» noted Kyrylo Budanov.

We will remind, Kyrylo Budanov said that the Russian rebels fighting on the side of Ukraine will continue raids on the border territories of the Russian Federation.
