Haidarzhy: The Czech Republic planned to restore the last destroyed bridge in the Mykolaiv Region, but it was delayed

As of August 2024, almost all bridges destroyed during the full-scale war in the Mykolaiv region have been rebuilt. Currently, only one destroyed bridge in the region remains to be restored — it is located in the village of Voronivka, Voznesensk district.

This was announced by the deputy head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Valentyn Haidarzhy, during a briefing on August 9, NikVesti reports.

According to him, the bridge was expected to be rebuilt at the expense of the Czech Republic, but this process was delayed and currently the regional authorities are looking for other ways of financing.

«Regarding the bridge in Voronivka. Before it flew to him, he was without an owner — there was no balance keeper. About two months ago, potential investors approached us and said that the Czech Republic would help us restore it. But currently the process has dragged on. We provided all the necessary information, the community took this bridge on balance, because without it it is impossible to repair it. The process continues, but slowly. Therefore, we are considering other possibilities of its restoration. To be honest, we counted on the Czechs and thought that when we finished the bridge in Voznesensk, they would also build this one. But it happened as it happened,» said Valentyn Haydarzhi.

Repair of roads in the Mykolaiv region

The Agency for Local Roads is going to spend 691 million hryvnias on operational maintenance of roads in the Mykolaiv region during 2024 — the tender was announced in April. And in March of this year, the Service announced another tender for operational maintenance of roads, including two bridges in Mykolaiv — Varvarivskyi and Inhulskyi.

In Snihurivka, they want to repair three roads during the year — they plan to spend 7.3 million hryvnias on this. And they plan to spend 5.8 million hryvnias on the repair of roads in the village of Kostiantynivka near Yuzhnoukrainsk.

Another 38.8 million hryvnias are planned to be spent on the repair of part of the state road T-15-13 Nechaiane — Ochakiv.

NikVesti also told how the repair of bridges and roads destroyed by the war in the Mykolaiv region is ongoing. 20.4 billion hryvnias are needed only for the reconstruction of destroyed bridges and roads of state importance in the region.

After the start of the full-scale war with Russia, about 850 kilometers of roads were damaged in the Mykolaiv region, which is 25% of the total length of roads in the region. As of the summer of 2023, 244 kilometers of roads have been repaired in the Mykolaiv region.
