The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that specialists of the organization, who are at the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP, heard shots in the area of the plant and also discovered mines again.
This is stated in the report of the general director of the organization, Rafael Grossi.
The IAEA team heard the sounds of explosions in the early hours of Wednesday, February 28, some distance from the station. Subsequently, shots were fired near or at the ZNPP. Russian troops assured that they had taken measures to «protect the station» from drones in the area.
Organization experts requested access to the area, but were told that there was no damage to inspect and that the area was outside the station's control.
Before that, the team was told about Sunday's drone attack in Energodar, targeting a roof with telecommunications equipment. The IAEA was able to inspect the building from the outside — no signs of damage were visible.
During the week, experts toured the territory of the ZNPP. They noticed that anti-personnel mines were again visible in the fenced area around the perimeter of the station, and the area was inaccessible to personnel. The IAEA says that, according to their observations, the mines disappeared from there in early February.
Earlier it became known that at the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP there are half as many personnel working as required, and the term of operation of the nuclear fuel at the station is also coming to an end.
