The European Union and UNDP have donated 16 ambulances to Ukraine to strengthen emergency medical services in war-affected communities. The specialised vehicles will be sent to eight regions, including Mykolaiv and Kherson.
According to UNDP, the total cost of the vehicles is over $910,000.
It is noted that eight Type B vehicles are designed to transport patients who are not in critical condition and provide basic medical care. They are equipped with the necessary equipment for monitoring vital signs, oxygen support and basic resuscitation equipment, including a defibrillator, electrocardiograph, blood pressure, saturation and pulse devices.
In addition, eight Type C vehicles will serve as resuscitation vehicles and will be used to assist in critical situations such as heart attacks, severe injuries or other emergencies. They are equipped with everything necessary to stabilise patients before they arrive at the hospital.
It should be noted that the Kherson Region State Administration has already reported that the region has received three of these special vehicles under the project.
Earlier it was reported that Mykolaiv region received three cars for medical institutions with the support of Denmark and UNDP, as well as 9 buses from Lower Saxony (Germany) for educational, cultural and sports institutions.
