United Nations Development Programme

UNDP, the United Nations Development Programme, is a UN organisation that helps Ukrainian communities recover from war damage. In January 2026 UNDP opened an office in Mykolaiv. In 2025 its project on demolition waste management dismantled 25 destroyed buildings in Mykolaiv Oblast and removed over 52,000 tonnes of construction waste. Together with the Government of Denmark, the programme opened a community hub in Bashtanka, renovates workshops at vocational schools and runs training courses after which almost 60% of graduates found jobs or started their own business. Together with the EU, UNDP handed Mykolaiv 36 solar power systems to keep water supply running during outages.
