On Monday, May 6, the Central District Court of Mykolaiv arrested without bail a suspect in the murder of a person.
According to the press service of the Main Department of the National Police of Mykolaiv Oblast, the incident occurred on May 3 at around 11:26 p.m. near a store on Architect Starov Street. As a result of the conflict, the suspect stabbed two residents, one of whom died at the scene.
The suspect himself fled the scene, but the police managed to find him. As sources in the law enforcement agencies told NikVesti, the 42-year-old suspect turned out to be Andriy Nevinchanny, who works in the administration of the Central Market in Mykolaiv and is the cousin of Maksym Nevinchannyi, a former deputy of the Mykolaiv City Council from the banned party.
«At the scene of the incident, the police found out that during the conflict between local residents, two men were stabbed. One of the victims died at the scene, the other was hospitalized. The attacker ran away. The figure was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The investigators informed him of the suspicion of the crime provided for in clause 1 of part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine «Deliberate murder of two or more persons,» the Mykolaiv Oblast police said in a statement.
The investigation is ongoing. The man faces up to 15 years in prison.
The second victim, who was admitted to the hospital, turned out to be a recidivist Yuriy Bohomiatkov, who appears in several criminal cases. He is currently in the intensive care unit of one of the city's hospitals.
It should be noted that in the orientation text, according to which the law enforcement officers were looking for murder suspects and which is in the editorial office of NikVesti, the resident of Mykolaiv Denys Baklanov was also mentioned. In 2013, he obstructed the activities of our publication's journalists, who were recording a traffic accident in the city center. Denys Baklanov is the brother of Stanislav Baklanov, who at that time held the position of deputy head of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (UBOP) in the Mykolaiv region. Then the court found Denys Baklanov guilty under Part 1 of Article 171 and Part 1 of Article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to public data, Stanislav Baklanov is currently the head of the operational development department of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) in Mykolaiv.
According to the prosecution, in October 2017, Yurii Bohomiatkov inflicted 15 stab wounds on an athlete from Mykolaiv. During the trial, Yurii Bohomiatkov repeatedly injured himself during the proceedings. In February 2019, Bohomiatkov once again cut his veins. Before that, he sewed up his mouth in the pre-trial detention center.
In March 2022, the Central District Court of Mykolaiv decided to release the recidivist Yurii Bohomiatkov from custody because he expressed a desire to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The court left control over the implementation of the decision.
Yuriy Bogomyatkov is accused of committing criminal offenses provided for in part 2 of article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine («Deliberate grievous bodily harm that caused the death of the victim»), part 2 of article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (»Threat or violence against a law enforcement officer») 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine («Intentional grievous bodily harm»).
It is worth noting that Yurii Bohomiatkov has already been convicted twice for causing grievous bodily harm. He is known as one of the killers of truck driver Oleh Shevchuk: in January 2013, a group of people beat Shevchuk near a store and the truck driver died from his injuries. The police detained four people on suspicion of committing this crime, but the prosecutor's office immediately released two of them, and the Central district refused to choose preventive measures in the form of detention for two. As a result, only Bohomiatkov was convicted of Shevchuk's murder. Then the convict filed an application for recalculation of his prison term in accordance with the «Savchenko law», due to which he was released much earlier.
