Mykolaivvodokanal is installing CCTV cameras: «To investigate disputes and protect staff»

The municipal enterprise «Mykolaivvodokanal» has begun installing a CCTV system at its facilities. The company states that the cameras are needed to ensure staff safety, protect property and investigate disputes.
The cameras are being installed at the company’s facilities, some of which are visited by hundreds of local residents every day, according to «Mykolaivvodokanal».
«Under martial law, the risks of sabotage, terrorist acts and other unlawful attacks remain a real threat. To protect staff, customers, property and strategic production facilities, the company is implementing a comprehensive CCTV system. The use of modern technical equipment is an essential element in ensuring overall security and the stable operation of the networks,» the company stated.
According to the water utility, the CCTV system is intended to help respond more promptly to emergencies and abnormal situations, monitor compliance with workplace safety requirements, and assist in the investigation of conflicts or disputes.
The company assures that monitoring will be carried out solely for security purposes, and that the storage and processing of video data will take place in accordance with legal requirements.
The water utility plans to spend 452,3 thousand hryvnias on the purchase of the CCTV system, according to data from the Prozorro system. For this sum, according to the tender documentation, the contractor must, by 30 September 2026, supply three video recorders, six IP cameras for indoor use, 21 IP cameras for outdoor use, three hard drives, one IP camera for number plate recognition, four PoE switches, two microSDXC memory cards, server racks, monitors, cables, etc.
As a reminder, the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivvodokanal» has announced a tender for the services of debt collection agencies to work with debtors. The estimated cost of the work is 1.24 million hryvnias. The aim is to recover over 6 million hryvnias in debts.
