The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tyhyi, commented on the situation with the closure of foreign embassies against the background of ongoing Russian shelling.
«On this 1,001st day of a full-scale invasion, the threat of Russian shelling is as relevant as it has been in the previous thousand days. We believe that it would be correct for partners to react on the 1001st day in the same way as on the previous thousand days, without any additional information injection,» said the spokesperson.
Heorhiy Tyhyi emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is in constant contact with international partners regarding the assessment of the security situation. He emphasized that threats of shelling from the aggressor state are a daily reality for Ukrainians.
The spokesman also appealed to Ukrainians to remain vigilant, not to ignore air warning signals and to follow shelter in case of danger.
It will be recalled that on the morning of November 20, the US Embassy in Ukraine announced that it had «specific» information about a possible massive shelling that could take place today. In this connection, the diplomatic institution will be temporarily closed.
By the end of the day, the embassies of Spain, Italy and Greece were also closed.
In addition, throughout the day, Telegram channels spread information about the possibility of an intercontinental ballistic missile attack on Ukraine. However, the authorities assure that such a threat exists every day.
Later, the MDI stated that Russia was spreading fake messages about the threat of a missile attack on Ukraine.
