The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, explained the situation with power outages in the Mykolaiv region, noting that the region, despite having its own sources of generation, is forced to comply with the general energy rules of Ukraine.
He told about this on the Novyny.live broadcast.
According to Vitalii Kim, a nuclear power plant, wind and solar power plants, as well as cogeneration plants are operating in the Mykolaiv region. However, the region uses only up to 10% of the total amount of energy produced.
«In addition to the nuclear power plant (South Ukraine NPP, — note), which produces 3 gigawatts, we also have another gigawatt of wind and solar power, in addition to cogeneration. And we use, probably, up to 10% of what the region produces. That is, we always have generation, we do not always have distribution networks, and we work for the general energy network of Ukraine,» said Vitalii Kim.
The head of the RMA explained that the Mykolaiv region is part of the general energy system of Ukraine, therefore, power outages occur in accordance with general rules that apply to all regions of the country.
«In a gentlemanly way, we are just as suffering and disconnected as all regions. Ukraine is equal. Therefore, we can never have a problem with electricity. The only question is how badly the whole of Ukraine is suffering after the shelling,» he added.
Shelling of the energy industry on November 28
We will remind you that on the morning of November 28, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with missiles and attack drones. Explosions rang out in various cities. More than 320 rescuers of the State Emergency Service with the support of more than 80 pieces of equipment are working to eliminate the consequences.
Mykolaiv Oblast also suffered from shelling. In connection with the introduction of emergency power cuts, trolleybuses and trams did not run in Mykolaiv. Mykolaivpastrans released an additional number of buses №91.
On December 3, it became known that the Mykolaiv region restored energy facilities damaged during the Russian shelling on November 28.
Also, the Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, and South Ukraine NPPs gradually increased their electricity production after shelling by Russian troops last week.
