Veterans and military personnel in Pivdennoukrsinsk will receive health treatment at sanatoriums at the state’s expense

In Pivdennoukrainsk, they have determined how budget funds will be used to reimburse the cost of sanatorium treatment for veterans and military personnel. Those eligible for benefits will receive vouchers funded by the budget.

This is stated in a decision by the executive committee of the Pivdennoukrainsk City Council, which was adopted on 22 April, according to NikVesti.

The Social Protection Department of the Pivdennoukraisk City Council has been designated as the administrator of the funds to be allocated for the rehabilitation of military personnel and veterans.

«The Department provides free vouchers to health resorts for citizens in eligible categories registered within the territory of the Pivdennoukrainsk municipal community, including internally displaced persons who actually reside or are staying within the community’s territory in accordance with medical recommendations on a first-come, first-served basis,» the Executive Committee’s decision states.

This applies to combatants: they are eligible for a voucher once a year for a period of 18 days — as well as people who have become disabled as a result of the war. They are entitled to receive vouchers out of turn every year for a period of 18 days. Both categories of beneficiaries must be registered with the department.

The executive committee’s decision also states that accompanying persons — the husband or wife — of a war veteran are entitled to a voucher without treatment at 50% of its maximum value.

«A person who is registered but has not received a voucher this year retains the right to be provided with a voucher for the following year, provided that the medical certificate in form №070/o is renewed,» the executive committee’s decision states.

The vouchers will be funded from the Pivdennoukrainsk budget. The cost will be reimbursed by bank transfer: the funds will be transferred to the sanatoriums by the administration. No additional payments will be made to improve living conditions at the sanatorium or to extend treatment.

The maximum cost per day of stay at the sanatorium has been set as follows:

• for people who have become disabled as a result of the war — no more than 50% of the established subsistence minimum for persons who have lost their ability to work as of 1 January of the current year (excluding VAT);
• for combatants — no more than 50% of the established minimum subsistence level for persons who have lost their ability to work as of 1 January of the current year (including VAT).

Beneficiaries and those accompanying them must pay for travel at their own expense or use other sources not prohibited by law.

The appendix «Measures of the comprehensive social programme to support war veterans, military personnel who defended Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and their family members until 2026» states that 200,000 hryvnias have been allocated for sanatorium stays in 2026.
