The Mykolaiv Health Department called the news about a 6-month-old girl who fell into a coma after vaccination a manipulation. A child with such data was not admitted to intensive care units in Mykolaiv or Odesa hospitals.

This was stated by the head of the department Iryna Shamrai during a briefing on Wednesday, July 17, the correspondent of NikVesti reports.

As you know, the Mykolaiv publication Novosti-N, citing relatives, reported that a 6-month-old girl named Polina fell into a coma after being vaccinated at Children's Polyclinic №2.

Yesterday evening, neither the city health department nor the child's relatives confirmed this.

According to Iryna Shamrai, after this information, the city and the region conducted a thorough inspection of medical facilities, but none of the intensive care units in Mykolaiv had a child with an adverse reaction to vaccination. In addition, according to the databases, no child named Polina was born in any of the maternity hospitals in recent months.

«According to the registration in the electronic database, for all the cases registered for the disease to date, such a child has not been registered. Yesterday evening, we learned that the child's surname. We contacted colleagues from Odesa, who also have a children's intensive care unit. Since June 8, children from the city of Mykolaiv with an adverse reaction to vaccination have not been admitted, and even more so children named Polina at the age of 6 months have not been admitted. An inspection of our maternity wards has been carried out. Polina was not born in Mykolaiv institutions during the specified period,» Iryna Shamrai said.

The head of the department called the news about the child a manipulation, which can harm the further choice of the parents of children for vaccinations. Moreover, she believes that this story was fabricated by someone for distribution.

«I understand that this information is very popular among our residents because we are all in such poor mental health anyway. And today it is a child that is dear to every child. I regret that manipulation of this may lead to a decrease in the number of people who will want to vaccinate their children. Every such article kills faith in parents, the official stressed. I am fully responsible for my words. Today, as the head of the health care department, I have more than 40 thousand vaccinations in the city of Mykolaiv. I am responsible for every side reaction. Believe me, a person who manipulates children... Well, as a professional, I clearly understand that the person who created this story has not worked in health care for a long time, does not know how it all happens,» said Iryna Shamrai.

The office also found the contacts of the baptized girl, who reported the information to the mass media, Victoriia Basaraieva. However, Iryna Shamrai refused to disclose the details of this conversation.

«We even found Victoria Basaraieva's phone. Her husband is with us at the declaration in one of the centers, we talked with her. I will not voice the position, it was given in a private conversation. The channel that published Victoria's words can contact her and talk,» she said.

In response to a clarifying question from a Nikvesti journalist about whether this story is a fake, Iryna Shamrai offered the media to find all the data about the child and conduct a check together with the commission.

«I told everything. There is no such child in intensive care units in Odesa, 6-month-old Polina is currently not in the intensive care unit of the city of Mykolaiv,» answered the official.

«And was such a child vaccinated in Children's Polyclinic №2?» the journalist asked.

«No, there is no such child. I am ready to meet with you personally, you give me your last name, date of birth and I will involve you in the commission, we will conduct an inspection with you. If there is such a child, the consequences are such, then we were obliged to submit it to the state center that investigates such cases,» Iryna Shamrai summarized.

We will remind you that on July 15, the former director of the Mykolaiv Regional Infectious Disease Hospital, deputy Svitlana Fedorova, said that in the family outpatient clinic №5, medicines and vaccines are stored in conditions of record heat in Mykolaiv.

In response to this, the administration of City Polyclinic №1 assured that vaccinating children during periods of extreme heat is absolutely safe, as vaccines are stored in special refrigerators or thermal containers.
