How the water main was built was shown in the story of the «Rutana» TV channel.

The Dnipropetrovsk RMA called this construction historic and record-breaking in terms of pace and scale. It was implemented in 11 months. All together, four pipelines are capable of pumping 400,000 cubic meters of water.

«The newly constructed main water supply works at full capacity. The last thread has been launched in Kryvyi Rih. Its length is 26 kilometers,» said Serhii Lysak, head of Dnipropetrovsk RMA.

He also said that the construction started almost immediately after the disaster at the Kakhovka HPP. Work was carried out around the clock. 800 workers worked in three shifts.

«A project that should have taken several years was implemented in a record 11 months,» he added.

In December 2023, the new water main was 93% ready, and water supply was restored to some settlements. Currently, four pipelines with a diameter of 1,200 and 1,000 millimeters pump water into the Southern Reservoir. Next, KP Kryvbasvodokanal carries out cleaning and provides a centralized water supply service to consumers.

We will remind that Mykolaiv is waiting for the start of the construction of a water pipeline from New Odessa. In August 2024, the President's Office announced the decision to «accelerate the start of construction» of the water pipeline.

Also, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, ordered the construction of a new water pipeline to provide Mykolaiv with drinking water «on the fast track» — drinking water should be available by the summer of 2025. The government has already approved the corresponding program.

As you know, in the last interview, the head of Mykolaiv RMA Vitalii Kim told journalists that thanks to the optimization of the estimate, about 3 billion hryvnias are needed for the construction of the water pipeline. Although earlier it was about the amount from 4 to 8 billion hryvnias.

It is worth noting that in two years the government did not allocate funds for the construction of a new water supply system to provide Mykolaiv with quality water. What are the changes to Cabinet Resolution №566, approved on April 29, 2024, indicate, NikVesti writes. At the same time, in 2023, the government allocated 8.2 billion hryvnias for the construction of new water mains in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and 5.1 billion hryvnias this year.

During the conference in Berlin, the first vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Korniienko, answering the questions of NikVesti, stated that the lack of drinking water in Mykolaiv is one of the biggest problems in Ukraine, which the state must solve in the near future.

David Arakhamiia, head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, believes that funds for the construction of a new water main for Mykolaiv should be allocated from the reserve fund of the state budget.
