Vitalii Shevchenko, director of the utility company ELU Avtodorih reported that at the moment the budget of the city of Mykolaiv does not contain funds for the repair of the Shyrokobalskyi bridge.

Shevchenko noted that the bridge does not need immediate repair due to the absence of emergency situations, although its condition is «worn out».

«The bridge is not in a state of emergency, although it is worn out and unsightly appearance. Although the issue of its renovation was raised four years ago, plans for reconstruction have been delayed due to a number of circumstances such as the COVID-19 pandemic and full-scale war,» he said.

He also noted that the issue of repairing the bridge will become relevant only in the coming years.

«This year, it is not relevant for our company at all, because the personal income tax was taken from the city, so the budget suffered a lot. For example, three times less budget funds were planned for utilities than usual. That's why we are doing only emergency work now, but this bridge is passable and standing. I believe that everything is not so bad to take and rebuild,» Vitalii Shevchenko emphasized.

We will remind you that in Mykolaiv, local residents are asking to restore the Shirokobal bridge, which connects the Tsentralnyi and Korabelnyi districts of the city.

The mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, said that there is no money in the city budget for the repair of the Shyrokobalskyi crossing in Korabelnyi district. The capital repair project of the bridge provides for the cost of works in the amount of 115 million hryvnias. However, the cost of its reconstruction after passing the examination increased to 165 million hryvnias.
