The Netherlands has announced the allocation of 500 million euros for a project to develop drones for Ukraine to support it in its fight against Russian aggression.
This became known from a statement by the Dutch Ministry of Defence.
The €500 million is part of a €2 billion rapid funding package scheduled to be disbursed in 2025. This information was confirmed by Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans and State Secretary of Defence Gees Tuinman during their visit to Ukraine.
Ruben Brekelmans stressed that the drone project will play a key role on the battlefield and help save lives. He also stressed that the support provided would help strengthen Ukraine's position both on the frontline and in diplomatic negotiations.
As a reminder, the Dutch government has decided to contribute EUR 65 million to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine.
