In Mykolaiv, a suspect was detained in the organization of the scheme of illegal departure of conscripted men abroad.

The prosecutor's office of the Mykolaiv region informed about this.

According to law enforcement officers, the scheme was organized by a 67-year-old resident of Mykolaiv.

«For 12,000 US dollars, he promised to provide them with a package of documents for unhindered crossing of the state border of Ukraine and free movement on the territory of the EU countries,» the message reads.

The suspect was detained while receiving funds in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Now the man has been remanded in custody with the possibility of bail in the amount of 1 million 514 thousand hryvnias. He faces up to 9 years in prison.

We will remind that in March 2024, a scheme of trading in fictitious certificates of unfitness for military service due to health was exposed in Mykolaiv Oblast.

Also, on August 16, the State Bureau of Investigation reported the discovery of a large-scale scheme to make money by issuing «false» medical certificates of unfitness for military service at the Mykolaiv Regional Mental Health Center. According to the investigation, this «business» was organized by the director of the medical institution, Viktor Taran, involving subordinate doctors who produced the necessary certificates, and a law enforcement officer who was engaged in recruiting clients.

However, the acting director of the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Mental Health, Victor Taran, who, according to the SBI, organized a scheme for the production of certificates for mobilization evaders, remained in his post.

In September, the prosecutor of the Mykolaiv region, Dmytro Kazak, reported that there is currently only one suspect in the case of issuing «false» certificates in a mental hospital - a law enforcement officer, who, according to the State Bureau of Investigation, was an intermediary.

We will also remind you that two residents of Mykolaiv and their friend from Uzhhorod will be tried for organizing a scheme to illegally cross the state border. The men face 12 years in prison.
