According to «BBC Ukraine», citing sources in the government and the Presidential Office, the president's team has not received any instructions on election preparations.
According to a government source, it is incorrect to talk about elections at this time, as the country's top priority is to achieve peace.
Earlier, the Economist reported, citing an unnamed Ukrainian government official, that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy could suddenly announce elections for July to take his rivals by surprise.
According to the newspaper, last week, Zelenskyy allegedly discussed with his team the possibility of voting after the ceasefire, which the US expects to come before Easter on 20 April.
The Economist also suggested that the first official announcements about the election could come on the eve of Easter or on 5 May, when the Verkhovna Rada is to decide on the extension of martial law.
Earlier, the head of the Central Election Commission, Oleh Didenko, stressed that holding elections after the war would take more time than the current legislation provides for.
