No violations were found: Mykolaiv City Council passed an inspection of the use of humanitarian aid

The Mykolayiv City Council successfully passed the verification of the use of humanitarian aid

This was reported by the Department of Internal Financial Control, Supervision and Anti-Corruption.

The Department has completed an audit of the handling of humanitarian and charitable aid received by the Mykolaiv City Council and its executive bodies during January-April 2024.

The press service of the department reports that 36 on-site inspections were conducted during this period, during which 11 structural divisions of executive bodies and 25 utility companies were inspected. The inspections included a review of available humanitarian aid such as equipment, computer equipment, generators, vehicles and construction materials.

«According to the results of inspections, no violations regarding the handling of humanitarian aid were found,» the message reads.

It is also noted that from July 2023, the department carries out constant control over the use of the received aid, including selective control of the performed works and services, photo-fixation of the use of the aid and drawing up of primary documents. The results of the checks are available on the official website about humanitarian aid.

We would like to remind you that as of July 2024, 27 criminal proceedings related to the illegal use of humanitarian aid were registered in Mykolaiv Oblast. Among them, cases concerning cars imported to Ukraine as humanitarian aid stand out.

Earlier it was reported that a father and son from Pervomaisk region, Mykolaiv region, are suspected of selling cars imported as humanitarian aid.

It was also reported that a soldier of one of the military units in the Mykolaiv region is suspected of selling a large amount of humanitarian aid.

In 2023, according to the materials of the Ukrainian SSR in the Mykolaiv region, 14 persons were notified of suspicion of misappropriation and embezzlement of property (Article 191 of the Criminal Code), and 13 persons were charged with crimes related to budget funds.
