The four-legged helpers of sappers continue to help demining Mykolaiv lands from explosive objects left by the Russian army.

According to the Main Office of the State Emergency Service in the Mykolaiv region, Kvad and his guide Roman Khomenko are in the Mykolaiv region for the second time.

«For us, for dog experts, the help of our dogs means speeding up the tasks of searching for explosive objects, including now, in this field,» says Roman Khomenko.

According to the rescuers, when Kvad discovers an explosive object during the survey of the territory, Roman immediately understands it. This was also the case in one area within Mykolaiv Oblast. Then the dog found an anti-personnel mine under the thickness of the earth layer, about 10 centimeters.

The sappers did not immediately believe it, but after examining the place of shrinkage, they really found an explosive object, the State Emergency Service noted.

As noted by pyrotechnicians, one of the effective methods that has proven itself is the survey of territories with the help of mine-detecting dogs. Since the beginning of canine calculations, trained Belgian shepherds have already managed to cover more than 44 hectares and find 245 pieces of ammunition.
