Against the backdrop of the difficult energy situation in Ukraine, the Mykolaiv region saw an influx of people from other regions in winter.

This was reported by Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

According to him, one of the reasons for this was the stable functioning of critical infrastructure in the Mykolaiv region, in particular the heating and water supply systems.

«On the contrary, we have an influx of people because we are located further south. We had no problems with heating or water. Electricity is scarce, but everything still works, including critical infrastructure. At least we have heat and water,» said Vitalii Kim.

At the same time, the head of the Regional State Administration acknowledged that the strict power cut schedules are having a significant impact on people's emotional state.

«Because of the strict blackouts, people are just angry. We've gotten a bit out of the habit of how we lived in 2022. It really affects our mood because it's very hard to live when you only have electricity for two hours,» he explained.

Earlier, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, promised that the amount of electricity in the region's grid could increase in the near future thanks to cogeneration.
