The bright pink sky over the Mykolaiv region: what is known

On the evening of November 5, Ukrainians in various cities observed a bright pink sky.

The sky was of an unusual color in Mykolaiv and the region, reports the correspondent of NikVesti.

A rare phenomenon can be seen in the sky over many regions and in the Crimea. In some places the sky turned completely red. And in some areas, the glow plays with pink and green tones.

Experts report that Ukrainians are watching the northern lights of the «Aurora». The reason for this is the storm that arose on the Sun. Under certain conditions and with a large emission power, this glow can also reach Ukraine.

«There was a powerful geomagnetic storm connected with the bombardment of our planet by the coronal mass ejection that occurred on the Sun a few days ago,» — writes Kharkiv astronomer Volodymyr Kazhanov.

According to meteorologists' forecasts, the geomagnetic storm will last for three days, and already on November 8, the situation with space weather will significantly improve.

We have collected for you a selection of unusual sky photos from different regions.
