The overhaul of the building of the music college in Mykolaiv was estimated at ₴100 million: the work is going to be completed next year

In 2024, the building of the Mykolaiv Professional College of Music is planned to be overhauled for 100 million hryvnias. We are talking about the educational building of the institution at 10 Soborna Street.

This is stated in the Program of Economic and Social Development of the Mykolaiv Oblast for 2024, which was adopted by the deputies at the session of the Oblast Council on December 14, writes NikVesti.

In addition to the capital repair of the building, work on the arrangement of the shelter is also planned. Funds for these works are planned to be allocated from the state and local budgets, as well as to attract «other sources not prohibited by law».

The Department of Architecture and Capital Construction and Culture Management of the Mykolaiv Oblast was identified as the responsible executor of the works.

Earlier it was reported that they plan to spend 2.9 million hryvnias on the repair of two buildings of the Mykolaiv Professional College of Music.

We will remind you that in January 2022, the team of the Mykolaiv Professional College of Music showed the conditions under which they were forced to teach children for decades. At that time, it was also said that the regional budget for 2022 did not include money for the reconstruction of the college.

Also in August 2021, Yurii Hranaturov, Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration for Culture , promised that in 2022 design and cost documentation for the reconstruction of the historical college building would be developed. At that time, he claimed that the reconstruction works will be carried out in two stages - the repair of the old building and the reconstruction of the historical building of the institution. The Regional State Administration was going to look for money for this from the FDRR or «kick out» through the «Major construction» and «Major restoration» programs. At the same time, money for the project was supposed to be allocated from the regional budget in 2017.

In April 2021, the adviser to the head of the regional state administration Vitalii Kim, Mykolaiv musician Volodymyr Aleksieiev drew attention to the critical condition of the college building. He told how for 17 years the local authorities have been making promises to repair the building, but it continues to collapse. According to him, the reconstruction of the facade of the building requires an amount of about 100,000 US dollars.

The college building was also inspected in December 2021 by the then head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, Hanna Zamazieieva. She promised to take the matter under personal control. She wrote about this on December 20, the day before the session at which the regional council approved the regional budget for 2022.
