In Mykolaiv, an emergency tree branch damaged a power line: «Children and adults have to crawl under high-voltage wires»

In one of the yards of a house on 2nd Voienna Street in the Inhulskyi District, due to bad weather, a branch fell on the gate of a private yard, damaging a gas pipe and tearing off wires.

A local resident turned to the editorial office of NikVesti, complaining about the inactivity of «Mykolaivoblenerho», which still has not eliminated the consequences of bad weather.

According to the residents of the building, the situation arose because of an incident that happened on November 7. A branch hung above the power lines in the yard, which the locals asked the Oblenergo to cut down.

«I called «Mykolaivoblenerho» and left a request for cutting down a tree. No one came to us for three weeks. On November 26, during bad weather, this huge branch broke and fell on the gate of the private sector, damaging the gas pipe and tearing off the wires. And it happened because of Oblenerho, because 3 weeks ago we applied for an emergency tree felling, every week we called and reminded, but Oblenerho still considers this tree and this situation not an emergency,» said the resident of the house.

Residents claim that the fallen branch caused significant damage to the gates and metal structures. Residents are also afraid to leave their homes due to exposed high-voltage wires.

«This huge branch with wires and a gas pipe is right at our gate. At the same time, both the gates and the metal structures above them were damaged. No one has come to clean it for two days. In fact, now part of the high-voltage wires is lying on the gate, and the other part is stretched in front of the gate. That is, we are in contact with these high-voltage wires, which are not even de-energized. There are pensioners in the yard who cannot go out, there is a seven-year-old child who had to crawl under high-voltage wires, adults crawl under them every day, too, because everyone has to go to work,» the applicant adds.

In Mykolayivoblenergo, residents were told to wait for the problem to be resolved, but due to constant rains, people are afraid that the situation will lead to greater consequences.

«Now November 28 has already passed, it is raining, the iron gates are wet, the wires on them are wet, everything is damaged and even more disaster can happen. Oblenerho's only reaction is to fence off the wires by more than 10 meters, and that's it. They told us to wait. They registered our appeal and said that they will consider it within 30 days. They are probably waiting for someone to die due to an electric shock,» complained the resident of the house.

We will remind, on the evening of November 25, Mykolaiv and the region were covered by heavy snowfall. The equipment of the utility company «ELU Avtodorih» began to work on the city's roads.
