In the Odesa region, 103,000 students, which is about 50% of the total number of schoolchildren, are provided with hot breakfasts and lunches.
This was announced by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.
«In 11 territorial communities of our region, the implementation of the «basic kitchen» and «support kitchen» projects has begun, for which 121 million hryvnias of state subvention is directed under the conditions of co-financing from local budgets,» the message says.
He noted that the process of hot meals is organized in 93% of secondary education institutions.
«This school year, 103,000 students (about 50% of the total number of schoolchildren) in Odesa Region are provided with hot breakfasts and lunches. The feeding process is organized in 93% of general secondary education institutions of the region, that is, in almost every school that carries out the educational process in full-time. This was possible thanks to the initiative of the President and the state support of the Government,» said Oleh Kiper.
We would like to remind you that 31.1 million hryvnias were allocated from the state budget for free meals for primary school students in schools of the Mykolaiv region. 42 territorial communities of the region should receive these funds in the form of a subvention.
How does the subvention work?
The subsidy can be used both for the purchase of food and for the payment of catering and/or outsourcing services. The main conditions for providing a subvention:
- Hot meals are organized for all primary school students (grades 1-4).
- In the educational institution, the process of face-to-face learning is organized or face-to-face learning is combined with distance learning.
- Educational institutions can organize meals themselves through outsourcing or cooperate with catering companies.
- The calculation of the cost of hot meals for students of primary grades should not exceed the cost of meals for students of grades 5-11 (12).
- All processes must meet the requirements of Resolution No. 305 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated March 24, 2021, HACCP norms and legislation on food safety and quality.
