The United States and Russia intend to issue a joint statement after talks in Saudi Arabia on 25 March.

CBS News reports, citing sources.

According to the publication, the United States and Russia will issue a joint statement following the talks in Saudi Arabia.

«The statement is due to be released at 4 a.m. in Washington, D.C., and at 11 a.m. in Moscow (10 a.m. in Kyiv, — note), two sources told», the report said.

The talks in Riyadh were aimed at reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Black Sea.

Although the details of the statement are not yet known, the sources note that the reports of the US technical team, handed over to the Donald Trump administration, show an optimistic mood. One of the sources also said that Ukrainian officials had been informed of the results of the talks.

Earlier it was reported that during the talks with the US in Saudi Arabia, Russia demanded full control over Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, although it failed to occupy all of these territories.

It is worth recalling that US President Donald Trump said that during the negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine, the United States would seek to return as much of the Russian-occupied territories to Ukraine as possible.
