Sappers demined 14,000 hectares of agricultural land in the Mykolaiv region this year: farmers can already use it

Since the beginning of 2024, sappers have surveyed and cleared 14,000 hectares of agricultural land in the Mykolaiv region. Of these, 1.9 thousand hectares were handed over to farmers for work in September.

This was reported by First Vice Prime Minister — Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko.

In total, she says, in September, sappers returned more than 30,500 hectares of agricultural land ready for use to Ukrainian farmers.

«This is one and a half times more than in August. In addition, in September we had a historic event — the first auctions were held in the Prozorro system for the provision of demining services for agricultural land,» Yuliia Svyrydenko noted.

Since the beginning of the year, pyrotechnicians have surveyed more than 257,000 hectares of land.

Mykolaiv Oblast was among the top three regions where the most land was surveyed:

• Kherson region: 26.2 thousand hectares in September, 210.7 thousand hectares — since the beginning of the year;
• Kharkiv region: 2.6 thousand hectares in September, 20.1 thousand hectares — since the beginning of the year;
• Mykolaiv region: 1.9 thousand hectares in September, 14 thousand hectares — since the beginning of the year.
