On Friday, November 29, during the blackout, more than 92% of Mykolaiv residents were provided with constant heating. Problems with heating were related to logistical difficulties and the need for rational use of resources.

Mykola Lohvinov, the director of the utility company Mykolaivoblteploenergo, told about this in the comment of NikVesti.

He emphasized that generators are designed for emergency situations and cannot work continuously for a long time. Each generator requires maintenance after 50-200 hours of operation.

In addition, the logistics of generator operation require the presence of qualified specialists with access to the equipment, which imposes certain restrictions on their operation.

«Yesterday, according to my data, more than 92% of the population had permanent heating. There were points where it was not there, but this is not due to the fact that there was not enough fuel. We have enough of it. We have enough generators. But the generator is not a panacea. It is intended for an emergency situation. And after every 50-200 working hours, he needs to do maintenance. If we run all the generators, people should understand that we use 800 liters of diesel per hour, which is quite a serious amount of money. Therefore, our priority is providing heat to large boiler houses that heat the largest number of houses,» Mykola Lohvinov explained.

He also noted that part of the generators were used to ensure the operation of purified water points, where people could get drinking water at specified hours.

Winter has just begun, and Mykola Lohvinov emphasized that it is important to store generators, as their excessive use can lead to breakdowns, and given the unpredictability of the situation, they must be in working order for the entire winter.

«Everything must be considered and logical. Winter has just begun here. Who knows the motor resource of generators? Who said that if we exploit them so hard, it will survive 4 months of winter? If it is minus five, minus ten outside, we will, of course, work around the clock to prevent the system from freezing. But now, when the temperature outside is about five degrees, we are looking for an optimal solution.

We are provided with generators more than, but they also need to be protected, like any resource, because it has the property of failing. Winter has just begun, the war is not over,» added the director of the enterprise.

Previously, Mykolaivoblteploenergo reported that they are ready to provide heating in the homes of citizens during power outages, as the boiler plants are equipped with the necessary generators. Mykola Lohvinov reported that thanks to the generators, boiler companies can provide heat to the homes of Mykolaiv residents «as much as needed», but not around the clock.

We will remind you that on November 29, Mykolaiv and 70% of the region remained without electricity for more than 30 hours due to the consequences of massive rocket fire that occurred on the night of November 28.

The lights in the city went out around 5:40 a.m. on November 28. Despite an attempt to restore the supply, electricity appeared only briefly in the evening, after which it disappeared again.

After 37 hours of blackout around 6:00 p.m. on November 29, power supply was gradually restored in Mykolaiv.

On Saturday, November 30, the head of the regional military administration, Vitalii Kim, announced that more convenient power outage schedules are planned in the Mykolaiv region.
