Shmyhal says Ukraine produces over 96% of drones for the frontline

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that more than 1.2 million drones have been purchased for the Army of Drones, 96% of which are Ukrainian-made.

He made the announcement during a government meeting.

«In the drone segment, domestic products account for more than 96%. More than 1.2 million drones have been purchased through the «Drone Army» project. Ukraine produces more self-propelled artillery systems than any other country in the free world. The missile programme has made significant progress. The Ukrainian long-range weapon» was created,» he said.

In addition, the prime minister said, the so-called Danish model of loading the Ukrainian defence industry has been launched.

«This means that partners help Ukraine by purchasing weapons for Ukraine from Ukrainian companies. We managed to raise almost one billion dollars», added Denys Shmyhal.

As a reminder, the Drone Coalition, which unites 17 partner countries, has announced the allocation of €1.8 billion to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Earlier, it was also reported that 67 samples of Ukrainian drones that have passed the approval procedures could be contracted in Ukraine. In 2022, there were only 7. There are 200 companies registered in the country that are involved in the production of drones. This refers to the ability of companies to produce drones when needed. The actual production of drones has increased tenfold since 2022.
