The European Union has officially announced the launch of the Ukraine2EU programme aimed at supporting Ukraine on its path to EU membership.

This was reported by the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna.

It is noted that Ukraine2EU is a key EU initiative designed to support Ukraine in the process of preparing for EU membership. It was initiated by the EU, Lithuania and Denmark, joined by Sweden.

According to the report, the programme will provide support at all stages of the accession process, adapting to the country's needs and working in close cooperation with Ukrainian authorities and civil society.

The programme's Facebook page states that Ukraine2EU will run from 2025 to 2027 and will be implemented by the Lithuanian Central Project Management Agency (CPVA).

In June 2024, the European Commission supported the start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
