In Voznesensk, 715,715 hryvnias were spent last year on clearing unauthorised rubbish dumps. And in the first three months of 2026, the figure has already reached 22,354 hryvnias. Moreover, rubbish dumps have been found in places where they had already been cleared.
This was reported by Voznesensk City Council in response to a request from NikVesti.
The response states that the State Environmental Inspectorate of the South-Western District issued an order on 27 June 2025. In accordance with this, unauthorised rubbish dumps in the villages of Rakove and Novohryhorivka were cleared.
Two months later, the executive committee established a commission on the management of abandoned waste. It will operate on a permanent basis. Over the course of this year, the commission, together with the police, has already held seven on-site meetings and drawn up the same number of reports.
Furthermore, in 2025, the administrative commission attached to the executive committee reviewed seven police reports on administrative offences relating to the creation of unauthorised rubbish dumps.
This year, rubbish dumps have already been cleared in Rakove and Novohryhorivka, as well as at 172 Svobody Street.
«A significant accumulation of household waste has formed here as a result of hostilities and enemy shelling,» reported the Voznesensk City Council.
At the owners’ expense, waste was cleared from unauthorised rubbish dumps at 45-47-49 Sobornosti Street and 14 Budivelnykiv Street.
As a reminder, the Voznesensk city authorities have shown where residents have returned waste to the sites of the closed dumps in the villages of Rakove and Novohryhorivka.
We would also like to remind you that the Ecology Department of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration reported that the only enterprise engaged in the processing of war-damaged waste in the region is located in Mykolaiv. Thanks to the assistance of international donors, the enterprise received 24 pieces of equipment. However, there is not enough equipment to increase the pace of work and meet the needs of the entire region.
