In Mykolaiv, a military family is seeking help for their young son Mykhail, who was born with a rare defect — bilateral microtia and atresia of the auditory canals. Because of this, the boy cannot hear and cannot fully develop.

The boy's mother, Daria, said this in her Facebook post.

«We are a family from Mykolaiv, and in 2023 our little hero, Mykhail, was born. Despite the fact that the pregnancy proceeded normally and all the tests and screenings were normal, unfortunately, he was born without ears, with a rare developmental defect — bilateral microtia and atresia of the auditory canals. Because of this, our son cannot hear and cannot fully develop,» wrote Daria.

As Daria noted, the only hope for Mykhail is a unique operation in the United States that will help restore his hearing and restore his ears. The cost of the treatment is over $210,000 — an amount that the family cannot raise on their own.
