Eight Suzuki off-road vehicles, which were purchased with the funds of the budget of Mykolaiv, were handed over to the Main Directorate of Intelligence (MDI).

Andrii Yusov, a representative of the press service of the State Government of Ukraine, told about this. The video with a comment was published by the mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych.

«Cars from Mykolaiv community were handed over to the MDI fighters. Let them serve reliably and help our soldiers destroy the occupiers,» the mayor wrote.

Andrii Yusov thanked the scouts for such help and noted that it was really necessary.

«Cars, SUVs during a full-scale invasion are often expendable. Both delivery and evacuation, the work of aerial reconnaissance, security forces — all this requires high-quality transport. And it is very good that this is a new vehicle that should serve for a long time and not create unnecessary problems, which means saving time for soldiers during the performance of important tasks. Therefore, of course, we are grateful to Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych and his entire team. Many thanks to the community of Mykolaiv, the hero city, which, despite all the wanderings and challenges that Mykolaiv steadfastly and courageously endures from Russian aggression, finds opportunities to help the Security and Defense Forces even in these conditions. We know that the city council has already done a lot for other components of the Security and Defense Forces and continues to do so. Thank you very much, this is a really important contribution to our joint victory,» said Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence.

Purchase of off-road vehicles for power steering

On November 13, 2023, it became known that the Mykolaiv Parks utility company plans to purchase eight Suzuki cars for 7 million 155 thousand hryvnias.

Later, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, published an «explanation for zradophiles» regarding the tender for the purchase of eight cars by the city's utility company. According to him, these cars are intended for defenders, but due to the restrictions of the tender rules, they cannot be clearly described as «cars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine» (AFU). And the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine confirmed that they had turned to the Mykolaiv City Council with a request to provide the fighters with transport, in particular, pickup trucks and SUVs.

It is worth noting that the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv parks» canceled the previous tenders for the purchase of cars. At that time, it was planned to purchase 7 specialized RENAULT DUSTER ZEN cars. Already after that, tenders were announced again for the purchase of other cars — Suzuki.

Prior to that, the Mykolaiv Parks utility company was going to purchase tree and bush seedlings for 7 million 726 thousand 475 hryvnias. After that, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych , asked the townspeople whether it is worth buying these seedlings, and later suggested that 7 million hryvnias should be used for the purchase of pickup trucks for the military. It was with these funds that they planned to plant new trees and bushes in the city.
