On the night of 20 February, Russian troops launched a missile and drone strike on Ukraine's gas infrastructure, damaging production facilities.

This was reported by Ukraine's Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko on his Facebook page.

«Last night, Russia again carried out another massive missile and drone attack on the gas infrastructure. In particular, the production facilities were damaged,» the Minister said.

Experts are currently assessing the damage and carrying out repair work.

«The purpose of these criminal attacks is to stop gas production, which is necessary to meet the household needs of citizens and district heating», said Herman Halushchenko.

As a reminder, on 1 January 2025, at 07:00, Ukraine officially stopped the transportation of Russian gas in the interests of national security.
