An agent group of the Russian Federal Security Service was exposed in the Kherson region. As a result of the special operation, two of the four members of the enemy group, who are suspected of coordinating strikes in the region, were detained.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The detainees were a former deputy of the Kherson district council and a hospital worker.
According to the investigation, on their «guidance» the Russians fired at a local hospital, a church, and the building of the National Police. In addition, they were preparing for new air attacks on the Kherson region.
It is also reported that another task of the suspects was to collect intelligence on the consequences of enemy «arrivals» in Kherson.
«The ex-deputy «summarized» the received information and sent it to the resident (senior) agent group via messenger. He turned out to be his local acquaintance, who during the occupation of the region went to cooperate with the FSS. On the eve of the liberation of the regional center, he fled to Russia, where he continued to cooperate with the occupiers,» the SSU reported.
So far, all four persons have been notified of the suspicion. The detained ex-deputy, whose mobile phone and draft records containing evidence of intelligence-subversive activities were seized, was charged under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He is in custody. The man faces life imprisonment.
The actions of his accomplice were classified under Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The two defendants, who are hiding in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and in Russia, were notified in absentia of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
It was previously reported that two spies were detained in Bavaria, who were allegedly monitoring American bases in the interests of Russia and planning attacks on military transport routes.
We will remind that the SSU detained an FSS agent in Odesa who was collecting information in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.
